SRINAGAR: The Managing Director (MD) of KPDCL chaired a meeting of officers today to review the power supply scenario for the G20 Summit.
At the outset, the chair was apprised of the finalization of works related to the G20 Summit and the power supply scenario for the upcoming event. The senior officials of KPDCL presented further action plans.
Various details related to power supply for the upcoming G20 Summit were discussed in detail.
The MD directed the officers of KPDCL to chart out a deployment plan for better coordination with the District Administration regarding emergency services related to electricity.
The concerned Executive Engineers were instructed to contact the Senior Superintendent of Police (Security) to obtain security passes for all employees who will be present round the clock.
The MD also directed the officers to develop a backup plan in case of any unforeseen circumstances that may disrupt the power supply. Additionally, the concerned officers were instructed to maintain Special Control Rooms round the clock during the summit.
Instructions were given to prioritize pending work and complete all tasks by the evening of today.
Furthermore, directions were issued to the officers to maintain better coordination with sister wings of JKPDD to ensure reliable power supply to the venues. Local officers were advised to stay in touch with the concerned SHO (Police) to facilitate hassle-free movement of employees selected for the event and to maintain uninterrupted power supply.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL; Superintending Engineers of Circle 1st, 2nd, Ganderbal, and Sopore, KPDCL; Executive Engineers of O&M Div 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th; and Executive Engineers of Sub-Transmission Div. 1st and 2nd, KPDCL. (GNS)
