SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across various parts of North Kashmir between June 17 and 21 to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure works.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution Wing, KPDCL, the shutdowns are necessary for conductor laying, line maintenance, and branch cutting activities.
On June 17, power supply to Sopore town, Sadiq Colony and adjoining areas will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM due to shutdown of the 33 KV Amargarh Sopore line. Consequently, the Sopore-1st and Sadiq Colony Receiving Stations will remain non-functional during the period.
Similarly, on June 18 and June 21, shutdown of the 33 KV Amargarh–Bandipora Tap line has been scheduled to facilitate conductor laying work. Power supply to Douru, Watlab, Tujjar, Bomai and nearby areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM on both days. The Douru, Watlab and Tujjar Receiving Stations will remain off during the work.
In addition, on June 17, the 33 KV Magam–Kongamdara line will also be shut down to carry out branch cutting operations. As a result, Bemina-I, Bemina-II, Kunzar, Dobhiwan, Ahmadpora and Kongamdara Receiving Stations will remain off between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM, affecting the corresponding areas.
The KPDCL has advised residents in the affected areas to take note of the scheduled power cuts and plan accordingly.
