SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Friday announced scheduled shutdowns of two 33 KV transmission lines, resulting in power disruptions in several areas of Anantnag and Shopian districts.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Wanpoh-Ashajipora/Malaknag Double Circuit line will be observed on May 23 and May 25 due to maintenance works.
As a result, power supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Mirbazar, Schichen, Brinty, Malaknag, Reshi Bazar, Janglatmandi, Shirpora, BB Nowgam, Thajiwara, Brakpora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9:30 am to 4 pm on both days.
In a separate shutdown, the 33 KV Kanipora-Batpora line will remain shut on May 24, affecting electricity supply to Town Shopian, Gagren, Memendar, Sharatpora, Shahlatoo, Habripora, Hurpora, Sedow, Chack, Devpora, Nagbal and adjoining areas.
KPDCL said power supply in the affected areas will remain suspended from 9 am to 2 pm during the shutdown period.
