“Baramulla police recovered body of a militant from Suraipora Kreeri, apolice statement said on Wednesday.
Police said the deceased militant had snatched rifle of a Policeman in Pattan few days back.
Police said that on a tip off Baramulla police, 29 RR and 176 CRPF launched a cordon in village Suraipora, while the cordon was being laid few gunshots were heard from a house. The police party approached the house and recovered the body of Mudassir Ahmad Sofi resident of Palhalan, Pattan and also recovered an Insas rifle near the deceased along with some used cartridges.
“Initial investigation revealed that the rifle belonged to the policeman who was attacked in Pattan with an axe few days back,” police said.
