The University of Kashmir entered into an MOU with the prestigious Management Institute of India (MDI), Gurgaon onJanuary 23, 2013.

The MoU was signed at the MDI campus Gurgaon by the KU team led by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Talat Ahmad, Prof. A. M. Shah (Dean Academic Affairs), Prof. Shabir A. Bhat (Director, Business School) and MDI ,Gurgaon Team comprising of  Director, MDI, Prof. Mukul P. Gupta and Prof. Gita Bajaj..

The main feature of MoU shall be that of participation of KU students in MDI’s “International Summer University (ISU)” Project which MDI Gurgaon will host in April 2013 in which students from about ten Indian Universities and students from many foreign universities shall be together in a class. The course shall be conducted by the international faculty at MDI Campus.  The University of Kashmir was the first to sign an MOU with MDI to become part of this international programme

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Talat said that the MoU will provide an opportunity to KU students for international and multinational education, supplemental learning and adding the sheen of an alma matter to their credentials. He said the students will learn from Foreign Faculty alongside their counterparts from Erasmas University Rotersdam, McGrill University and Richard Ivey School of Business of Canada or Grenhole Ecole de Management.

Praising the initiative, Prof Talat Ahmad added “though our students are of comparable qualities with those from top management institutions but they need exposure to international practices.”

Prof. Talat said that the signing of the MoU is aimed at promoting academic and other activities and providing exposure to students of the Varsity at international level so that they could learn from the rich experience of their counterparts from other parts of the world.
