Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Batamaloo lawmaker Tuesday asked his government to inform the house “what was truth in killing of Bemina man:”

Seeking immediate attention of the government, Sheikh Noor Mohammad, who represents Batamaloo told the house, “one Tanveer Ahmad has been killed in Kud late Tuesday evening. He was on way to Amritsar for treatment.”

“I want government to issue a statement in the house and tell what the truth was in it” he told the Speaker.

Notably, police last evening said that a suspected militant was killed when he attacked a CRPF party in Kud area. The slain man was later identified as one Tanveer Ahmad, r/o Ibrahim colony Bemina.

Supporting demand of Batamaloo lawmaker, NC’s A M Sagar asked the house to issue a statement immediately. “I also came from Bemina area. And there is heavy stone pelting going on in the area. What is the truth? Is it a fake encounter?” Sagar asked government.

Responding to concerns of lawmakers, Minister Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura told Sagar, “Don’t mislead the house; Batamaloo lawmaker didn’t say it was a fake encounter.”

He assured the house that government will look into the matter and present the report in the house.
