As soon as the business resumed in Lower House of the J&K Legislature, Congress members stood up from their seats an walked into the Well.

Amid sloganeering, “Reserved Category Ko Insaaf Do”, the members demanded “justice” to reservation category.

Led by Congress, several members from ruling PDP and BJP joined the protesting members in Well.

“Government lawyers should not resort to Baymaani,” Congress’ Nawang Rigzin Jora said. “Government is deliberately wants to end the reservation and wants to lose the case in in court.” Responding to concerns of Opposition and its own members, Minister Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura said, “the matter is sub-judice. No comments for now; please wait for court decision.”

However, Opposition members against walked into the Well while Treasury benches are busy in Question Hour. But Opposition members have staged a sit-in inside Well.

When Opposition members didn’t relent, Minister Ab Haq Khan told the house, “the matter is in Supreme Court. Please wait for the decision.”

Intervening, deputy speaker, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, who is sitting in his seat in Opposition benches, told the government, “when media can discuss the matter (which is sub-judice), why can’t J&K assembly.”

Addressing Haq Khan, Gurezi said, “80% of people in your constituency is back ward and why can’t we discuss it here?”

Meanwhile MLA Batamaloo tried to raise the issue of Bemina man killed in Kud yesterday evening. However, he was not audible amid din.

“Speaker Sir, one Tanveer Ahmad Bhat, s/o: Mohammad Sultan Bhat, Ibrahim Colony, has been killed in Kud on Monday,” he was heard addressing Speaker, Kavinder Gupta.
