Hurriyat (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest on Wednesday to prevent him from marching towards Kulgam, a Hurriyat (m) spokesperson said.
Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, media advisor of Mirwaiz, said that a huge posse of policemen was deployed outside the Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz to prevent him from moving out.
The joint resistance leadership has called for a march to south Kashmir’s Kulgam today to express solidarity with four militants and two civilians killed on Sunday during a gunfight and ensuing clashes.
