SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that the militants killed in the Kulgam gunfight are likely affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, with further details to be provided once the operation concludes.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo, reported that five militants have been killed so far. He also confirmed that two soldiers were injured during the operation and that their condition is stable.
DIG Matoo added that the bodies of the terrorists are being retrieved. While it is probable that they were linked to the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit, he stated that exact details will only be shared after the operation ends. (KNO)
