Scores of persons were injured during intense clashes with the government forces in Turigam Yaripora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district where a militant and DSP operations were killed in a gunfight.
Reports said that soon after the gunfight broke out scores of the youth took to streets and clashed with the forces.
Forces resorted to tear gas smoke shells to chase away the protestors and resulting in injuries to several protesters.
Sources said that the injured youth were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
Earlier one militant and DSP operations Aman Thakur were killed in the gunfight that broke out after the forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area.
Clashes were going on in the area when this report was filed.
