Two civilians who were injured after government forces opened fire on protesters in Hawoora village of Redwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District on Saturday were shifted to Srinagar for treatment.

Reports said that two civilians, identified as Yasir Ahmad Dar and Javed Ahmad Lone who had suffered bullet injuries in thighs were shifted to Srinagar for treatment.

Three civilians, including a teenage girl, were killed and at least five others injured after forces opened fire on protesters during clashes in Hawoora area of Redwani earlier today.

Official sources said that government forces entered the village to lay cordon and search operation in the area.

However, youth in large number came out on the streets and hurled stones on the vehicles of the forces who retaliated with firing resulting in death of three civilians and several others sustained injuries.
