Following a call from the resistance leaders for a shutdown against Kulgam killings, the government on Monday made heavy deployment of forces, reports said.
Heavy deployment has been made in all the district headquarters and sensitive areas including Kulgam district which witnessed massive protests on Sunday.
However, according to police sources, no curfew or restrictions have been imposed.
Clashes had erupted on Sunday in Frisal village of Kulgam district where eight people — two civilians, two army men and four local militants — were killed during a gunfight.
Scores of people were injured in these clashes.
