As Irrigation and Flood Control Department Kashmir issued flood alert in South Kashmir, several villages in Kulgam district have submerged in flood waters while as state metrological department said that there shall be improvement in weather from Thursday evening.

Reports said that the villages located on the banks of Nallah Vaishaw were inundated in rainwater on Wednesday evening.

“The villages include Kharpora, Nowpora, Batpora, Nawbal, Khudwani and Hussanpora,” the reports informed.

Reports reaching from Qazigund said that areas surrounding Sandran River have also submerged.

As Kashmir Life tried to contact Sonum Lotus (Director MeT), he responded with a Short Messaging service (SMS) reading, “Light to moderate rain fall will continue tonight. Improvement from tomorrow evening.”
