Srinagar: At least two militants have been killed during an encounter with forces in Kupwara district on Wednesday. The encounter, which is still under way, began after forces from the Central Reserve Police Force, Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Special Operations Group undertook a joint operation in Kalaroos area, reports said.
One policeman has also been injured in the ongoing encounter, reports added. The forces undertook the joint operation after getting a tip-off that two to three militants were hiding in the area.
During the operation the militants fired at the forces that wounded a police constable, reports added.
