A complete shutdown is being observed on the second consecutive day in Kupwara town and its adjacent areas in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, on Saturday against the militant killings.

All the shops, business establishments’, government and private offices remained closed in Kupwara while traffic is off the roads.

The shutdown was observed in Trehgam, Kupwara, Lolab and other adjoining areas of the district, and authorities have imposed curfew-like restrictions in Kupwara town for precautionary measure.

Earlier, two militants were killed during an encounter with government forces on August 2, 2018, in Shumriyal Lolab area of Kupwara.
