SRINAGAR : A 30-year-old labourer was critically injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Salasan area of Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday evening.
The injured has been identified as Mohd Ismail Dhaker, son of Ashmali Dhaker, a resident of Salasan, Boniyar.
According to locals, Ismail was hit by a vehicle, which fled the spot immediately after the incident. He was rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Boniyar for treatment.
Doctors at the health centre, after providing initial treatment, referred him to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for specialised treatment in view of the critical nature of his injuries.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident and trace the vehicle involved. (GNS)
