SRINAGAR: The Ladakh Administration has designated the courts of the Principal District and Sessions Judge in Leh and Kargil as Special Fast Track Courts to try offences related to unfair means in public examinations.
The decision was notified by the Department of Law and Justice on Friday under Section 12A(2) of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, as amended by the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) (Amendment) Act, 2026.
The notification, issued in consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, states that the Leh and Kargil courts will exercise the designated powers within their respective territorial jurisdictions.
The notification will take effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
