A lady ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance in Pulwama District last evening, police said Monday evening.

A lady (name withheld) resident of Malikpora Wasoora in district Pulwama consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was immediately rushed to District Hospital Pulwama where she breathed her last.

Meanwhile, two people died while four others were injured in road accidents in Kashmir.

Two persons died while four others were injured in three separate road accidents in Pulwama, Sopore and Leh.

In Pulwama, a Maruti vehicle bearing registration number JK016-0262 hit a static drilling machine near Joinery Mills Pampore, resulting in on spot death of two persons boarding the vehicle, identified as Ramesh Kumar Raina son of Prathvinath Raina and Ghulam Nabi Sofi son of Muhammad Ramzan Sofi residents of Nunar, Ganderbal.

After completion of medico-legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their relatives for last rites. Pampore police has registered a case in this regard.

In Sopore, a vehicle bearing registration number JK05C-9371 hit and injured a pedestrian Gousia daughter of Fayaz Ahmed Lone resident of Tujjar Sharief at Tujjar Sharief, Bomie.

The injured has been shifted to the hospital for treatment.

In Leh, a Water Tanker bearing registration number 11/ZE 69075 met with an accident near Tari, Nyoma resulting in injuries to 03 passengers. All the injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.

The police statement further said that a structure was damaged in fire in Urdu Bazar area here last evening.

Fire broke out in Punzoo complex belonging to Waqar Ahmed Punzoo son of Mohammad Aslam resident of Sanat Nagar Housing Colony, at Ranger Masjid Bohri Kadal, Urdu Bazaar. Fire tenders brought under control with the help of police and locals.

However, no loss of life or injury has been reported in this fire incident.
