A woman died in a road accident in Nishat area of summer capital on Tuesday, police said.
A motorcycle bearing registration number JK01S/7803 met with an accident near Karpora, Nishat Srinagar resulting in serious injuries to the pillion identified as Nigeena wife of Haroon Rashid resident of Malbagh Hazratbal.
The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where she succumbed to her injuries.
House Damaged In Fire In Shopian
A residential house was damaged in a fire incident in south Kashmir’s Shopian district this afternoon.
Fire broke out in a residential house belonging to Latief Ahmed Sofi, son of Mohammad Ashoor Sofi, resident of Naikpora, Shopian resulting in partial damage to the house.
Fire was brought under control with the help of fire tenders.
Meanwhile, continuing its drive against the contraband substances, police have arrested a man with charas in Awantipora today.
Following a tip off, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora apprehended a man identified as Ajaz Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Shaban resident of Kandizal Awantipora at Kandizal Awantipora.
On his checking police recovered a Kilogram of Charas powder.
A case FIR number 189/2016 under section 8/20 has been registered in police station Awantipora and investigation has been taken up.
