A valley based Journalist group has condemned alleged harassment of a lady reporter, working with a local English daily, by the medical superintendent of GB Pant Children Hospital.

“The reporter was on an assignment at the hospital when the superintendent rebuked her publicly and later asked the guards to evict her,” a statement issued by the group said Tuesday evening  “Such was the extent of the harassment that the reporter broke down. Extremely terrified, the reporter rushed to her office and apprised her editor in chief about the incident.”

The journalist group is mulling a legal case against the official.

The journalist group has appealed chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the health minister Chaudhary Lal Singh to take note of the harassment and act against the erring medical practitioner while it has decided to approach the J&K State Women Commission against the medical superintendent in case the government fails to act against the erring medical officer.
