A gunfight broke out between suspected militants and a joint party of army and police’s Special operations Group in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Wednesday morning.

The guns rattled Rafiabad’s Ladoora village after forces acted on a tip-off about the presence of militants in the village. Police said that two or three militants are hiding inside a residential house near Public Health Centre. Forces have surrounded the house and are engaged in a fierce gunfight with holed up militants.

Notably, this is the second gunfight in the area since last week when four militants were killed and one Pakistani militant was captured alive in the Qazinag dhara area of Rafiabad.
