A motivated bunch of lady teachers who were flagged off from Kashmir by Kilo Force, Sharifabad on January 27 this year, reached New Delhi on February 6, and met the Vice Chief of Indian Army.

The ladies are currently on ‘Watan Ki Sair’, a tour conducted by the Army (Kilo Force Signal Regiment) as part of Operation ‘Sadhbhavna’.

After going through myriad activities in Pune and Mumbai, the ladies met Lt Gen SK Singh,Vice Chief of Army Staff.
The General urged the teachers to motivate children for higher studies; he also informed the teachers about the vacancies in colleges in Maharashtra available to people of Jammu & Kashmir.

The highlights of the itinerary thus far includes visits to the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, The Bishops School, Pune Camp, Cognizant Technologies, Pune, a cruise on the Coast Guard Ship Samudra Prahari and visits to historical places and beaches at Mumbai.

The group had an interaction with teachers at the prestigious St Mary’s School, Delhi and was awe struck by the modern teaching methods being employed.
