A house was damaged in Tichpora village in Kangan area of district Ganderbal due to a landslide triggered by rains and snowfall.
Reports said that the under-construction house belonged to Abdul Majeed Mir of Tichpora Kangan got damaged due to Landslides in the area.
“On the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at 3.00 am, a huge landslide hit the building resulting in a lot of damage to the house and destructing it completely,” said Fayaz Ahmad Mir, brother of the owner.
The family has appealed the administration for help and demanded early action in this matter.
“We want the matter to reach deputy commissioner Ganderbal so that steps are taken to minimize damage to residential houses in the areas prone to landslides,” Mir said.
Earlier, many incidents of destruction of residential houses and other buildings have been reported in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir due to landslides and inclement weather conditions.
