Landslides triggered by heavy rains damaged four residential houses in North and Central Kashmir on Saturday.

Two residential houses were damaged after landslide triggered in Wadarbala Nagni Rajwar area of Handwara town on Saturday.

Assistant Development Commissioner Kupwara Muzafar Ahmed told CNS that after damages to the houses of Ghulamuddin Khatana and Salamuddin Khatana all other families living around were shifted to safer places.

“Tents were provided to the affected families while administration will help them in every possible way,” he said.

Two more residential houses were damaged due to landslides in Waniarm village of Wangath in Kangan town of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A few days back, at least six houses were damaged due to a landslide in the same area. Authorities have shifted other families to safer places.
