Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) through its Enforcement Wing Tuesday demolished number of illegally raised structures in the vicinity of Dal Lake and retrieved a water body from encroachment.
According to LAWDA Enforcement Officer a special demolition drive was launched by LWDA in the area of Ashaibagh, Saidakadal, Kohnakhan and Nishat during which a water body near Ashaibagh was retrieved.
Besides illegally raised structures were demolished at Nishat, Khonakhan and Nowpora areas, he added.
The Enforcement Officer said that people residing in the LAWDA jurisdiction are directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions and Tipper/Load carrier owners are asked not to carry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/Nageen Lakes without permission.
