SRINAGAR: A lawyer was found hanging from a tree in Arath area of Budgam, a local news gatherer KDC reported.
The deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad, son of Abdul Gani Mir, a resident of Wadwan village.
Residents informed the police and they took custody of the body. It will be only after the medico-legal formalities that the body will be handed over to the family. The case has been registered.
It was not immediately known if Bhat’s death is a suicide or if there is some other reason behind it. Investigations are expected to offer a clue.
A Wadwan resident said the spot where he was found hanging is almost 1.5 kms from his home.
