Congress on Tuesday termed the lawyers’ move of blocking challan against seven accused in rape-and-murder of eight-year-old Asifa Bano as “politically motivated”.
In a statement, Congress state president G A Mir expressed his surprise over such action. “It is a politically motivated move,” said Mir, adding that it is “a conspiracy to achieve something out of this heinous crime”.
“The act of hindering the justice process amounts to the endorsement of heinous crimes. Shame on them,” Mir said.
“When the Lawyers representing people in the Hon’ble Court indulge in such shameless acts, what would one expect from them. This is obnoxious, the height of shamelessness and unfortunate act on their part,” Mir added
Preventing Crime Branch from producing the challan in eight-year-old Asifa’s rape and murder is highly unfortunate, condemnable, vulgarity on the part of lawyers, he said
