Srinagar: The residents of Sogam area of Lolab in north Kashmir on Sunday staged a protest against the failure of doctors in LD Hospital for refusing to admit a pregnant lady from remote area of Kupwara and forced her to deliver her baby on roadside.
Scores of the residents from Sogam and it’s adjoining areas assembled in Sogam shouting anti-administration slogans demanded the stern action against doctors involved in the heinous crime
“The guilty doctors should be removed from their post as soon as possible,” said one of the protesting resident.
“How can the doctors available let the ailing lady who had traveled from remote area of north Kashmir almost near to go outside the hospital,” he added.
Besides financial help to the family, the protesters also demanded the maternity hospital for district Kupwara. They also demanded the doctors involved to apologise to the family and assure that no such incident should be repeated.
