SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a militant associate with LeT outfit in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police spokesman said the arrested militant associate has been identified as Sahil Farooq Mir resident of Chakoora Pulwama.
“As per the police records he was involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the LeT militants, besides he was also involved in transporting arms/ ammunition to the militants operating in Tral, Kakpora, Khrew and Awantipora areas,” said the spokesman.
He said that incriminating material including explosive material and ammunition has been recovered from him in Noorpora area.
Accordingly, a case FIR No.92/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated, said a police spokesman in a statement.
