SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha discussed the idea of establishing world-class research and capacity-building ecosystem in Kashmir. He was interacting with scientists from the University of Kashmir’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation (CIRI).

The scientists were led by Dr Ajaz ul Hamid Wani, apprised the LG about the research initiatives they have taken in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Discussion was held to establish a world-class research and capacity-building ecosystem,” an official spokesman said. “The Lt Governor assured all support and assistance from the UT Government in enhancing the research development activities.”

LG extended his best wishes for the success in research of the young scientists, who have returned through “Brain Drain to Brain Gain” mission of the Government of India to take up research positions in various universities, and set up cutting-edge research programmes.

The delegation comprised Dr Javaid Yousuf, Dr Ashraf A Dar, and Dr Abdul Wajid Bhat.
