SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday inaugurated a Reading Marathon at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, launching a literary initiative aimed at fostering reading habits among students and promoting lifelong learning.
The event drew the participation of a large number of students from schools across the Kashmir Valley, who took part in the campaign designed to encourage reading beyond the classroom and cultivate a lasting interest in books.
Senior civil and police officers attended the programme, including the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, along with other senior officials.
The initiative focuses on motivating young people to embrace reading as a regular habit and to broaden their knowledge through literature and learning.
