SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Independence Day.
In his message, Sinha greeted the people on the “joyous occasion” and called for celebrating the national festival with pride and a renewed commitment to the values and ideals that have guided the country since Independence.
“Heartiest greetings and best wishes to all on Independence Day! Jai Hind!” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He conveyed his greetings to people from all sections of society and extended his best wishes for their well-being, peace and prosperity.
Independence Day is being celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir with national flag-hoisting ceremonies and programmes being organised at various government and public institutions.
The main Independence Day function in Srinagar is being held at Bakshi Stadium, where the national flag is being unfurled as part of the celebrations.
