During a solemn meeting at the Raj Bhawan, the Lieutenant Governor met Mareesa and her mother, Meenakshi Kundan Thapa, to express the administration’s unwavering support to the bereaved family. He conveyed the government’s gratitude for the supreme sacrifice made by Thapa and reaffirmed the UT administration’s commitment to standing with the families of martyrs.

As per the assurance, Mareesa Thapa will be appointed as an Assistant Law Officer in the government sector upon the successful completion of her academic studies.

“The administration honours the service and sacrifice of Thapa and stands firmly with his family,” LG Sinha said while handing over the assurance letter.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, was also present on the occasion.

Raj Kumar Thapa lost his life earlier this year during unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, triggering widespread mourning and tributes from across Jammu and Kashmir.
