SRINAGAR: Amid sloganeering by Opposition the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for today and is scheduled to reconvene on Tuesday to hold a discussion on Operation Sindoor.
Earlier, Monday’s session began at 2 p.m. following two earlier adjournments but was once again disrupted as the Opposition protested against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar.
Slogans like “Stop vote theft,” Opposition members forced another adjournment.
The Rajya Sabha will meet again on Tuesday for a 16-hour debate on Operation Sindoor. Multiple media reports suggest that, defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar are expected to participate in the discussion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to intervene.
The Congress, the largest opposition party, has been allocated around two hours for its intervention, with party president Mallikarjun Kharge slated to open the debate.
