LG Sinha Launches Dedicated Portal for Terror Victim Families in Jammu Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday launched a web portal to support terror victim families across Jammu and Kashmir. The newly launched digital platform, developed by the Home Department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), is designed to serve as a centralised database for district-wise information on terrorism-affected families. It aims to streamline the process of providing financial relief, ex-gratia compensation, compassionate appointments, and other forms of assistance to eligible beneficiaries.

“The initiative will expedite the redressal of all pending and new cases and ensure institutionalised support to those who have suffered from terrorism in the Union Territory,” said LG Sinha, adding that the portal would eliminate duplicate or fraudulent claims and ensure no legitimate case goes unresolved.

The portal will also include details of encroachments on properties of victims or their next of kin (NOKs), helping the administration take appropriate remedial action. Lieutenant Governor Sinha is personally monitoring and overseeing the resolution of cases across the Union Territory.

To facilitate public access and grievance redressal, toll-free helpline numbers have been established at the offices of the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu (0191-2478995) and Kashmir (0194-2487777). These helplines, attended by trained staff, will be integrated with the portal to ensure that all queries and claims are formally recorded and acted upon.

Additionally, Special Monitoring Cells have been constituted in the offices of the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. These cells will regularly review case status, identify delays, and coordinate with concerned departments for the timely processing of support measures.

Present at the launch event, either physically or virtually, were Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; DGP Nalin Prabhat; Principal Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti; Principal Secretary to LG Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari; GAD Commissioner Secretary M Raju; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar; IGP Kashmir VK Birdi; IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti and NIC SIO Jaskaran Singh Modi.
