SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited the ancient Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir at Sarkoot in Kishtwar, where he offered prayers for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the visit, he interacted with public representatives and local residents, listening to their grievances and development-related demands. Acting on a key concern raised by locals, he directed the district administration to take steps for the rejuvenation and restoration of the pond adjoining the temple.
Residents welcomed the initiative, noting their long-standing demand for the revival of the historic water body linked to the shrine.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma, MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, and other senior civil and district officials.
