LG Sinha Reviews NH-44 Restoration Works in Udhampur

   

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited Thard village in Udhampur district to review the ongoing restoration works on the National Highway-44, which has been disrupted by floods.

During the inspection, the Lieutenant Governor was briefed by RS Yadav, Regional Officer of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), on the deployment of men and machinery to ensure speedy restoration. Officials informed that work was continuing round the clock and one lane of the highway would be opened to traffic shortly.

Sinha also met families affected by the floods in the area and enquired about their wellbeing. Earlier, he visited a health camp organised by the Health Department at the Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel in Jakhani, Udhampur, where he inspected medical facilities being provided to flood-affected families.

The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Chenani MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, Udhampur West MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Health Secretary Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Sarah Rizvi, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai, SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure Ashok and other senior officials.
