SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, to enquire about the condition of 39 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims injured in a road accident in Ganderbal district earlier in the day.
The Lieutenant Governor met the injured pilgrims and their attendants, enquired about their health and wished them a speedy recovery. He also reviewed the medical treatment being provided and directed the hospital administration and other concerned officials to ensure the best possible care and extend all necessary assistance to the injured devotees.
Sinha was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V.K. Birdi, and other senior civil and police officials.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a bus carrying Amarnath Yatra pilgrims skidded off the road and overturned near Gund in Ganderbal district.
All 39 injured pilgrims were initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Kangan, before being referred to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment.
Officials said the administration is closely monitoring the condition of the injured, while hospital authorities have been instructed to provide all required medical support.
