SRINAGAR: Light to moderate rainfall is expected at most places across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, while a few areas may receive heavy showers, according to the latest weather forecast.
The weather office said the threat of shooting stones, landslides and flash floods would continue during the day, particularly in vulnerable and hilly areas, and advised people to remain cautious while travelling.
A gradual improvement in weather conditions is, however, expected from late afternoon, with rainfall likely to weaken and cease at most places by the evening.
The forecast follows several days of widespread rain that disrupted normal life across parts of the Union Territory, causing waterlogging, landslides and temporary road closures at several locations.
Residents, especially those living near landslide-prone slopes, streams and low-lying areas, have been urged to remain vigilant and follow advisories issued by the authorities until weather conditions fully stabilise.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar reiterated that while most places are likely to witness light to moderate showers during the day, isolated areas could experience intense rainfall before conditions improve later in the day.
