Indian and Pakistani troops again exchanged heavy firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir and alleged each other of violating the truce.

Defence sources said that Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts in Balakote sector of Poonch district. This is 46th violation of truce along LoC during last 27 days by the troops of Pakistan, they added.

The firing started by Pakistani troops at 11.30 am and Indian army retaliated to it. Sources said and added  that fierce gunbattle was going on when the reports last came in.

On the other hand Pakistani media reports said that the Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing at Nakial sector along the Line of Control.

It has been a routine that after every firing incident on the LoC, both India and Pakistan allege one another of ceasefire violations.
