Locals Nab Two Thieves Red-Handed in North Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: A theft attempt was foiled by locals in the Saidpora area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

As per the reports, two thieves with a vehicle were caught red-handed and later handed over to Police Station Uri, where they were taken into custody.

The thieves were trying to pilfer electric wire near Saidpora road. The accused have been identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmed Khan, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, resident of Dardkote, and Muneer Ahmed Dandroo, resident of Srinagar.

A senior police officer confirmed the incident and said that the police have registered a case in this regarding and further investigation has been taken up.(GNS)
