Lok Sabha Adjourned; FM Tables Economic Survey Ahead of Budget

   

SRINAGAR: The Lok Sabha was adjourned on Thursday and will reconvene on February 1 at 11:00 am. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey of India for FY 2025-26, ahead of presenting her record ninth consecutive Union Budget on Sunday, February 1. The Survey reviews the economy’s performance over the past year and provides a roadmap for future fiscal policy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, calling it a boost for ambitious youth and Indian manufacturers, and a step toward a confident, competitive, and productive India. He also described Parliament as the “temple of democracy” and highlighted its role in sending a strong message globally.

The Budget session will run for 30 sittings over 65 days, concluding on April 2, with a recess from February 13 to March 9 for Standing Committees to examine ministry demands.
