Srinagar

Demanding immediate removal of Mohammad Akbar Lone from the Cabinet, scores of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) workers from district Bandipora staged a protest in Press Enclave Srinagar. Protestors alleged that National Conference leader and Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone has brought a ‘slur’ on the name of District Bandipora people and he is crossing all the limits of decency.

PDP workers alleged that Lone has lost the right to be a part of the Cabinet anymore. Protestors were carrying banners and placards depicting slogans against the Minister for Higher Education.

Protestors raised anti-Minister slogans and demanded his immediate removal from the Cabinet.

While talking to reporters, PDP District President Bandipora, Yasir Reshi said that it is shocking that a Cabinet Minister who claims to be the representative of the people has become habitual of using unparliamentary language. “First he (Lone) did it with Molvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari and now he repeated his shameful act and targeted a civilized and humble person like Nayeem Akhtar,” he said adding that his shameful acts have become a source of disgrace for the people of Bandipora.

The protestors tried to take out a march towards Lal Chowk however police arrested scores of them and lodged them in police station Khoti Bagh.

A police official told CNS that all the workers were released soon after their arrest.
