Students residing in boys hostel of the University of Kashmir on Tuesday said that panic spread among students after a low flying chopper made few turns in the morning above the hostel structures.

Students, speaking to Kashmir Life said that in the morning at around 10:15, they felt scared after chopper hovering over made at least three rounds.

“It was so low that students came out of their rooms. Panic spread among us as it was very unusual,” said a student, wishing to be anonymous.

“We initially thought that it can be surveillance due to 15 August but when chopper made two more rounds coming further closer to the building, it was frightening,” he said.

Students said that they have raised the issue with varsity administration.

Meanwhile, choppers were also put on surveillance, said to for the first time, at Srinagar’s Bakshi stadium where Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was hoisted tri colour.
