SRINAGAR: Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from the Srinagar segment, emphasized the significance of this electoral exercise as a means for people to express their grievances democratically.

Parra highlighted the prevailing atmosphere of apprehension among the populace over the past five to six years and expressed hope that this election would provide an opportunity for citizens to voice their concerns through the ballot box.

“This will be the first time that people will register their protest in a democratic way. They are scared from last five-six years. This time the contest will be a challenging one as the boundaries have been reshaped in delimitation,” he said while addressing media.

He acknowledged the challenges posed by the recent reshaping of boundaries through delimitation, making the upcoming contest particularly demanding.

Parra encouraged voters to turn out in large numbers and exercise their right to choose the representatives they believe will best address their needs and aspirations.

“We hope people will come out in large number and vote to parties whoever they want,” he added.(KNS).
