JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited the family of the slain teacher, Deepak Chand, in Jammu.

Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha visits the family of Deepak Chand, the Kashmri Pandit school teacher who was killed in Eidgah Srinagar in October 2021.

According to an official handout by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Jammu and Kashmir, “The Lt Governor expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family for the irreparable loss they have suffered. He assured the family members of all the support from UT government.”

The Lt Governor said that the administration fully stands with the bereaved family in this hour of tragedy and grief.

Chand was shot dead along with another teacher Supinder Kour when they were at their school in Eidgah area of Srinagar. He was posted in Kashmir valley for the last four years and is survived by his wife and a two-year-old daughter. Only a few days before his killing, he had driven his family to Jammu and returned in haste to resume his duty.
