SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the road accident that claimed the life of Chetan Tatial, son of Anchal Dass, at Diani in Samba district on September 29.
Tatial, a resident of Jatwal village in Ghagwal tehsil, died in the road traffic accident at around 6:30 pm, according to the authorities.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Ghagwal, has been appointed inquiry officer to conduct a fair, impartial and independent inquiry into the incident and establish the cause and circumstances leading to the accident.
The inquiry will examine the condition of the road, the road safety measures in place, available records and other evidence, besides determining whether any negligence, deficiency, omission or lapse by any individual, agency or department contributed to the accident.
The SDM, Ghagwal, has invited people with direct knowledge of the incident, including eyewitnesses and those possessing documentary evidence, photographs, videos or other relevant information, to submit the material to the inquiry officer.
