SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Budgam district for maintenance work.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), power will be suspended on January 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the SIDCO area. This includes Ompora Housing Colony, Khanpora, NIFT, and Police Line Ompora.
The shutdown is necessary to upgrade a 33 kV Tap line for the new 1×10 MVA Receiving Station at Ompora, which is under construction.
Residents are advised to plan accordingly. The shutdown will take place only if weather permits, with all safety measures and procedures followed.
KPDCL has informed stakeholders, including the district administration and technical teams, to ensure smooth execution of the work. For updates, residents are encouraged to check official KPDCL announcements.
