Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik who has been place under house arrest since his arrival from Delhi on March 10, 2013, has strongly condemned the alleged “reign of terror and oppression unleashed against the general masses, political activists and leaders in Kashmir”.

In a statement issued here, Malik alleged that police and other forces at the behest of so called democratic rulers have started a pro active campaign against JKLF in nooks and corner of Kashmir.

He said: “Even today early morning when everybody was asleep, police after jumping over the outer walls raided the house of JKLF leader Mohammad Yasin Bhat .His eight year son Aaquib and wife were terrified by the police action. Likewise police in Kulgam has started a campaign against JKLF workers and office bearers. Some days back people at Budroo Yaripora protested against the authorities who had failed in bringing down the dead body of a govt. employee of PDD who while fixing some problem lost his life on electric pole. Police has registered a case against people for protesting and ironically has named many JKLF workers including the district President  Kulgam Abdul Sattar, his nephew Abdul Rashid, JKLF activists Fayaz Ahmad  Nangroo, Abdul Rashid Laway, Meraj ud din  etc in this case”.

Malik while condemning the alleged harassment of peaceful political workers and leaders said that this clearly shows that Jammu Kashmir is a police state and dictatorial laws and acts are actually governing this state.

“These kinds of oppressive actions and reign of terror has not been able to stop our march towards freedom in past and this unilateral state sponsored violence against peaceful political activities’ will fail in future also”, he said adding that JKLF is a caravan of people who have chosen the path of struggle and sacrifices for the freedom of our nation and police and so called rulers must know that their oppressive measures cannot deter us from the path of truth.
