The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Mohammad Yasin Malik was detained on Friday during a protest rally in Maisuma area of Srinagar.
Reports said that the protest rally led by Malik against the remarks of Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat was on way to Lal Chowk, however, the rally was stopped at Maisuma area of Srinagar by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Malik was detained on spot.
Malik was leading the protest rally along with his supporters; however, a police party swung into action and detained him, an eyewitness said.
